Many industries are subject to stringent data protection and privacy regulations. CISOs must ensure that their organizations comply with these regulations, which often involves complex legal and technical requirements.

Non-compliance can lead to significant legal and financial repercussions. CISOs are responsible for promoting cybersecurity awareness and education within their organizations. This includes providing training to employees, raising awareness about phishing and social engineering threats, and ensuring that the workforce understands its role in maintaining security, says Lt.
